As we struggle to compete with a world of hard-working Chinese and
Indians, our companies struggle with the ability to pay their
employees. We know that the costs of parts and supplies for
companies have gone through the roof. The only thing which can
moderate costs for them is lowering the cost of labor.
In the early 20th century, the liberals pushed through a
reduction of the American work-week down to 40 hours. They literally
forced this on the American people against their will. (along with mandatory
vacations!)
Back to today, I personally know that all my co-workers and friends
work at least 48 hours in a "40 hour" work week. Between coming in
Saturday and working on the internet for work at home, we land up
putting in an extra day. Most of us are compensated for this by
"Over-time pay" (another liberal conspiracy). This puts an un-due
burden on employers.
We
should come together in these times to help our country by donating
that extra day to our companies.
It is the
patriotic thing to do. This also honors our forefather's ethics of
simple-living and parsimonious ways. We can do with less in order to
give our companies and CEO's a fighting-chance to compete. Do your
best to help those that have.
